General Dentistry

Dentist examining a patient's teeth during a routine cleaning

The foundation of every treatment plan

General dentistry is the twice-yearly rhythm that keeps everything else from becoming urgent. It's also where we get to know your mouth well enough to notice the small changes that matter — before they turn into bigger, more expensive problems.

What to expect at your cleaning

  1. 1

    Check-in and history review

A quick conversation about anything that's changed since your last visit — new sensitivity, grinding, or discomfort.

  2. 2

    Digital X-rays, as needed

Low-radiation digital imaging, only taken on the interval your dentist recommends, not on autopilot.

  3. 3

    Cleaning and polish

A thorough scale and polish from one of our hygienists, paced to your comfort rather than a fixed appointment slot.

  4. 4

    Exam and plan

Your dentist reviews everything in person and walks through any next steps before you leave the chair.

Most patients need nothing more than this rhythm, twice a year, indefinitely. When something more is needed, you'll hear it from us directly — with the reasoning, not just the recommendation.

Common questions

Twice a year for most patients, though we may recommend a different interval based on your gum health and history.

A standard cleaning shouldn't be painful. If you have sensitive gums or haven't been in for a while, tell us up front — we'll adjust pace and pressure accordingly.

Let us know when booking. We hold longer slots and offer sedation options for patients who find routine visits stressful.
